Management of Multiple Congested Conditions in Unbundled Operation of a Power System

چکیده
This paper studies congestion management based on congestion pricing as may be done by an Independent System Operator. Four main concepts are discussed: congestion pricing can lead to the same solution as an Optimal Power Flow, pricing need not have cost information available, good estimates of nonlinear cost coefficients are necessary, and pricing for congestion management is separable from pricing congestion for the purpose of transmission network revenue reconciliation. Emphasis is on the determination of sufficient information by observation of the behavior of the market to permit optimum pricing without explicit communication among parties, and without generators ever being explicitly concerned about the relief of flow congestion. Results from simulated experiments are presented.

Power Management in a Utility Connected Micro-Grid with Multiple Renewable Energy Sources
As an efficient alternative to fossil fuels, renewable energy sources have attained great attention due to their sustainable, cost-effective, and environmentally friendly characteristic. However, as a deficiency, renewable energy sources have low reliability because of their non-deterministic and stochastic generation pattern. The use of hybrid renewable generation systems along with the storag...
متن کاملThe Optimal Power Flow of Multiple Energy Carriers in Networked Multi-Carrier Microgrid
The future distribution network comprising different energy carriers will include small-scale energy resources (SSERs) and loads, known as a Networked multi-carrier microgrid (NMCMG). This concept not only leads to an efficient reduction in operation costs, but also encompasses the energy transformation between gas and electric networks at combined nodes, as well as district heating networks. I...
متن کاملOptimal Operation of Microgrids Under Demand Side Management
One of the major problem in the optimal operation of the power system is optimal operation of microgrid with regard to the Demand-side-management. From one side, demand-side-management programs reduce the operating costs of the power system and on the other hand, the implementation of these programs requires a financial incentive policies. In this paper, optimal operation of microgrid with dem...

This paper studies power management in a grid-tied hybrid energy system consisting of photovoltaic array, wind turbine, fuel cell, electrolyzer, hydrogen storage tank and a combinational heating system to supply the thermal and electrical demand of a building. Moreover, the hybrid system is capable of exchanging power with local grid. Thus, variable daily buying and selling tariffs are also tak...
